Key Features Explained

Thatcham Approved

The S5 vehicle trackers have a tag system. When a tag holder enters or exits the vehicle, the vehicle instantly recognises them as an authorised driver. The tracking system must comply with this method in order to be certified as a Thatcham approved S5 tracker
The SmarTrack S5 is a Thatcham approved tracker that uses the tag system for identification.

Category S5 Insurance Approved Tracking

When you park your vehicle up, a real-time location report is produced using GPS satellite networks . The S5 works on unauthorised movement, so if the vehicle is parked up with the ignition off and it is moved/towed, or moved without the tag, or in case there has a battery disconnect, a trigger is immediately actioned to the control center who will contact you.

Professional Installation

We offer a mobile fitting service across the whole of the UK which means that it is much more flexible and can be fitted at your work or home, whichever is more convenient. All our engineers are fully trained, certified and licensed installers giving you peace of mind when having the tracker installed.

Alerts and Notification

If your vehicle moves without the ignition being on, or there is no card detected by the system, then the Control Centre will contact you to ask for confirmation that this was yourself and the movement is authorised by you.

Fully Transferable

The majority of the trackers we supply are fully transferable to your next vehicle. The only one that isn’t is Tracker Network Ltd. The benefit is, that you only have an uninstall and install cost, saving money on buying a new tracker.

Web App secure Tracking Portal

With most of us having smart phones or tablets, the tracking companies have created app’s for you to manage your vehicle remotely. This gives you up to date location information as to where your vehicle is parked, battery percentage and much more.

Waterproof Devices

We supply many trackers that have passed the IP67 testing meaning it is water and dust proof. Not all of them have this certification, so check with VTT beforehand.

Monitored Alarm Center with 24/7 Level 1 Police response

The Control Centre’s are monitored 24/7 so should there be any thefts, you can contact them round the clock. Equally, if there are any tampering, battery disconnect alerts or indeed any unauthorised movement they will be in contact, even if it’s the early hours.

Unauthorised Movement Sensing

The Control Centre will contact you to ask for confirmation that the vehicle is secure if it is moved without the ignition on. When installing S5 units that use a driver ID tag system, if the vehicle is without a card, the phone will be actioned via the secure operating centre. A requirement of the S5 Thatcham criteria is that the device must be accompanied by a system that is used to verify the driver of the vehicle is an authorised user. With the SmarTrack S5 devices, driver recognition can be in the form of a physical Driver Detection card. Driver Detection is a physical card-based system that requires the driver to carry a card with them when driving the vehicle. If the card is not present in the vehicle when moving, Global Telemetrics will endeavor to contact the registered keeper to ensure the vehicle's safety.

Geo Fencing

With the app, if the tracker you have installed supports Geo Fencing, you can set a virtual border around the vehicle, so that if the vehicle breaches this border, you will be alerted immediately.

High Theft Recovery Rate

We have achieved some high recovery rates with our device partners and are working tirelessly to try and make it more difficult for the criminals.

Speed Alerts

As the name suggests, the GPS works to keep track of the vehicle and detects when you are speeding and will alert you.

Repatriation Network

Our tracker partners have a database of repatriation agents, who will work to assist in the recovery of your vehicle, so you don’t have to worry about how to get your vehicle back home. This is a chargeable service. If the stolen vehicle ends up abroad or was stolen whilst you were travelling in it abroad, we will work with the Police overseas to help with the location of the vehicle.

Crash Detection

On some of the trackers we supply, there is a crash detection feature that will send an alert to your phone if the car is involved in an accident, so, if you’re not with the vehicle you can check on whoever is driving and alert emergency services if needed.

Location Request

If you are away from the vehicle and want to get back to where you parked, you can request the location in the app to guide you back to the car. If, however, you have parked in an underground car park, GPS tracking can only get you close to where the GPS signal was lost as you drove underground.

Multi Tracking Technologies

We have a range of different technologies that allows us to track vehicles in the event of a theft.

Route History

You can go back as far as 30 days to check what routes you have taken with the majority of our tracking devices. Helpful if you need to recall where you parked, or which journey you took.

International Roaming Network

Our products use roaming, multi-network SIMS which means that if you take your vehicle abroad it will select the strongest network to connect to.

Battery and Anti-Tamper Monitoring

Every tracking device has a built-in battery backup which kicks in when the tracking devices main power source has been cut off or someone disconnects the battery. An alert will be sent by the Control Centre should the battery be disconnected.

Location Request

If you are away from the vehicle and want to get back to where you parked, you can request the location in the app to guide you back to the car. If, however, you have parked in an underground car park, GPS tracking can only get you close to where the GPS signal was lost as you drove underground.

Flexible Subscription Options

We offer flexible subscriptions that will make it easy to fit your budget – whether you are someone who has one vehicle, or you manage a fleet of vehicles, we can find the perfect solution. We offer subscriptions from monthly, annually and above, right up to the lifetime* of the vehicle. *Please note that the lifetime option cannot be transferred onto another vehicle

Optional Alarm Input

This is when you connect an S5 tracker to an aftermarket alarm. In the event of an alert you will receive a phone call from SmarTrack control centre and a push notification. The main alerts for the aftermarket alarm will be smashed windows, tilt/motion or the shock sensor is triggered or indeed if the doors/boot or bonnet circuits are broken which will in-turn trigger the alarm.

THE NEW BLU EYE 2

Next generation safety system detects ( unmarked ) emergency services even better

TRACK Technologies introduces the new Blu Eye 2, the next generation safety system for motorists. As with the first version of the unique Blu Eye, the new Blu Eye 2 warns you of approaching emergency services, regardless of whether or not they are displaying flashing lights and sirens. But now even better.

Using the very signals transmitted by the government's Airwave communication system, Blu Eye tracks all (unmarked ) police vehicles, ambulances and fire engines in the vicinity of your car. As a driver, you can quickly anticipate this; Blu Eye sees marked and unmarked emergency services even before they see you and then warns you with acoustic and visual signals. The Dutch invention not only increases the road safety of all road users - a spearhead of the European authorities - but also allows you to react extra alertly if, for example, you are speeding. By warning you in time, Blu Eye offers you an extra set of eyes and ears, so to speak. And does so completely legally.

WHAT'S NEW WITH BLU EYE 2?

Almost a decade after its introduction, the first generation of Blu Eye has convincingly proven itself to many thousands of users at home and abroad as the ultimate road safety system that warns road users of approaching emergency services. But it is in TRACK Technologies' DNA to make something that is good even better. With all the knowledge and experience we have accumulated in recent years, this has resulted in the new Blu Eye 2, which is now available.

  • MORE RADIO CHANNELS

Blu Eye 2 has a much more powerful platform than its predecessor. The system not only picks up the 200 low TETRA/Airwave channels like the first generation of Blu Eye, but can now also receive 600 high TETRA/Airwave channels that have recently come into use in the EU.

  • TWO DIFFERENT DISPLAYS

With Blu Eye 2, it is now possible to choose from two different displays. TRACK Technologies has developed an LED display especially for installation in the rear view mirror. In addition, a 2.4-inch LCD display is available that can be mounted in or on the dashboard.

  • SIMULTANEOUS DISPLAY OF UP TO THREE EMERGENCY SERVICES

Both displays now display up to three emergency services at the same time. Handy if you think that the merging ambulance on the motorway is the cause of your alarm, but a look at your display shows that there is another emergency service in your area. Because, after all, forewarned is forearmed.

HOW DOES BLU EYE 2 WORK?

In almost all of Europe, emergency services (ambulance, fire brigade and police) use a digital communication system. In the UK, this system is known as Airwave. It is based on the worldwide Terrestrial Trunked Radio standard, TETRA for short. Just as the GSM signal is the standard for your mobile phone, TETRA is the standard for mobile communication for the Public Order and Security services.

When a police officer, paramedic or firefighter logs the Airwave radio in his (unmarked ) car into the network, the communication equipment sends an ultra short synchronisation signal every few seconds. It is precisely this signal that Blu Eye picks up from the ether and converts it into an audible and visual alert on an information display in your car. The distance at which the first generation of Blu Eye and the new Blu Eye 2 signal an emergency service varies from a few hundred metres to about one kilometre. That means plenty of time to anticipate the situation and quickly move to the side and/or reduce your speed.

WHAT IS AIRWAVE?

Airwave is the communication system for the emergency services. Police, fire brigade, ambulance services and related organisations use the digital system for their mobile communication. More than 300,000 emergency workers communicate 24/7 via Airwave with their control rooms and each other. They use the closed system during daily work, but also at major incidents and disasters.

The free-standing masts and rooftop locations of Airwave are connected by switching stations. The masts and switching stations ensure that emergency response workers can communicate with the control room at any time anywhere in the UK and beyond via their fixed and mobile radios.
